Kerry's Millinery Love Story
My journey into the world of millinery began with a deep-rooted passion for fashion and creativity, nurtured by helping my seamstress Mum. From a young age, I was captivated by the transformative power of fabrics and trimmings, how they could elevate an outfit and express personality. This curiosity led me to explore the art of hat-making, where I fell in love with the process of designing and handcrafting each unique piece. My keen eye for detail, colour, and form, paired with a unique and eccentric perspective, allows me to view hats not merely as accessories but as wearable art, with each piece telling its own story.
I studied traditional millinery techniques and experimented with different materials, feathers, and trims, gradually honing my skills. As I learned more, I realised how much joy it brought me to create something beautiful and distinctive, tailored to the individuality of the wearer. This passion became a career, driven by a commitment to preserve and celebrate millinery—an endangered craft that deserves recognition for its artistry.
Inspired by the elegance of past eras and the vibrant colours and textures of nature, I wanted to offer hats and fascinators that were not only stylish but also sustainable, using ethically sourced, high-quality materials. This vision led to the founding of Halo Studio Millinery, where each piece is thoughtfully designed to reflect individuality and craftsmanship.
Today, I am proud to create headpieces that bring joy, confidence, and a sense of personal expression to those who wear them. Whether for a special occasion or for everyday elegance, I believe that a beautifully crafted hat can transform not just an outfit but also the way a person carries themselves.
Thank you for being part of this love story with me and for supporting the preservation of this remarkable craft.
